Giveaway Winners! And a Reader Question

Thanks to all who entered the two Father’s Day giveaways on Style Girlfriend this week. It was so fun to read the answers about all your deserving dads, not to mention the fathers (real or fictional) who you deemed “best-groomed.” Some made me laugh (Zach Galifinakis has a great beard??) and some made me go “Awww!” then smile all goofy to myself because my readers are so the best and I can’t get over how much you totally love your popses (I believe that’s the MLA-approved plural to “pops”).

So, on to the giveaways!

Walker won the Gothambox for his dad, with his answer about the sacrifices his father has made for his family totally tugging at my heartstrings. The Wahl grooming products package goes to Dan, who wrote, “Ned Flanders. That mustache is positively Selleckian in its grandeur.” I can’t argue with that kind of logic. Keep that facial hair in order in good health!

My question for you today, then, is: what’d ya think? I was excited to have the opportunity to do these giveaways, and offer the SG faithful who come here every day something more than my (sometimes) witty repartee. As I get more opportunities to collaborate with brands, I want to make sure I’m doing so in a way that feels organic to the site and to my readers.

In the cases of this week’s giveaways, I loved the idea behind Gothambox and knew that I’d be psyched to receive one, so thought you guys – or rather, your dads – would be too. And while I have no first-person experience with Wahl (obviously), I’ve always heard good things about the product quality, with guys bragging about how they’ve had their trimmer “for years.”

So in the comments, please tell me, what did you like about the giveaways? what didn’t you? Why did you enter one but not the other? Obviously I want to continue tailoring the site to your guys’s needs (your guys’s being totally proper English by the way) and wants. I mean, there’s what I like – colored khakis, short-ish shorts, boat shoes – and what you guys like – khakis that are khaki-colored, shorts that are not as short as I like your shorts, and..thankfully..boat shoes. I just want us to always be finding more ways to meet in the middle. So…more boat shoes?

And tell me (if you’re not sick of me yet!), any fun father’s day plans? my dad’s in miami celebrating the end of the school year with mi madder (a special ed teacher in a public elementary school which is harder than being a surgeon and the president combined, in my opinion) so they’re’ going to be drinking mai tai’s and forgetting they have any kids come Sunday.
