Jackets and backpacks and swim trunks oh my
I used to wander by Club Monaco every so often here in New York and pop in, then wonder, “Why don’t I come here more often?” I’d always find myself enamored with the nicer-than-expected fabrics, slim-cut proportions, and the impression that what you’re buying is going to last you awhile. Then I’d leave and promptly forget about the brand until six months later when I’d walk by again, and repeat the whole process once more.
That all changed when the brand finally launched an e-commerce site back in March. Hallelujah. Now it actually comes in the mix when I’m shopping, a process I undertake mostly online these days. At least to start off anyways.
I’d recommend Club Monaco (a subsidiary of Ralph Lauren) to guys starting to build a solid base for their grown-up wardrobe. Think a step up from Gap or Banana Republic – in price, yes, but also quality. The trends are accessible and appropriate and will help you step up your clothes game, basic by not-so-basic basic.
I went window shopping and found a few pieces any guy could use in his closet this summer:
