I’ve gotta work on my “drafts folder” game. Apologies to anyone who visited this morning to a page full ‘a nothin’. See what I’ve been up to, below, then tell me: how was your week?
Catching up on sleep! Fashion Week just laid its pretty little head to rest for another half a year, and now it’s my turn. Doing some copywriting for a beauty brand that did the looks for what felt like a thousand shows and I was busy relaying the ‘how to’s’ to the press. I’m absolutely not complaining; I realize how lucky I am to have work be fun and glamorous (the fashunzz! the drama!!), but I am looking forward to sleeping in a little later than usual this weekend.
The color pink. I didn’t think I owned as much of it as I did – or even liked it as much as I apparently do. I know I buy and wear a lot of the color gray…I just didn’t think pink was second in line to that. Could I be more of a girly girl than I think I am?
Cruel Summer from Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music imprint. Okay, yes, I’m one of *those* who will listen to a leaked album. So sue me (no, just kidding. Kanye, please don’t sue me). There’s something totally appropriate about Yeezy flouting the seasons by releasing an album with summer in the title just a few days before the official start of fall.
A lot of my mother’s granola. And I mean a lot. It’s delicious, of course, but my massive consumption may be more due to the fact that I never made it around to grocery shopping this week, so the fact that all that’s needed to make it a meal is milk – and I have milk – may have something to do with it. I’ve made a lot of people drool with pics, and received a lot of requests for the recipe, but I haven’t decided if I’ll let go of that. I kind of want to pass it along to my kids as a secret family kind of thing. Suffice it to say, it’s delicious. And also, that my mother’s recipe may be a double batch.
The dip in temperatures. There’s something lovely about the weather cooperating with the seasons. It seems crazy that we’re already halfway through September, but I’m glad for the air’s nip that is promised to us in autumn. It make it much easier to run outside, without getting up absurdly early to beat the heat, or waiting for the sun to set to run without it chasing me down.
A few interesting partnerships that are (hopefully!) coming up. Stay tuned…
