Unless you’re my friend Megan, who lives in San Diego, where she makes a point to tell me almost weekly how PERFECT the weather is, and how it NEVER rains, you’ll probably need a rain parka in your outerwear arsenal.
The nice thing about parkas is you can wear yours over everything from a suit to jeans and sneakers.
A trench or a mac coat are also good options for bad weather, especially with a suited-up look, but I don’t believe a business formal outfit that says “Buy! Sell!” necessarily mandates a fancier jacket. Just make sure your parka layers (not lumbers) over your suit jacket. You should still be going for a slim fit, despite the lousy weather. And really, so long as you’re not sporting a backpack with your anorak, you’re fine.
Above are three parkas to keep you dry despite fall’s frequently spitting skies.
Above:
More jackets, but also galoshes and stylish umbreallas. Because if the Walgreens’ toothpaste aisle where I spent twenty minutes this morning agonizing over my decision (Do I go with cavity protection? Whitening effects? Flouride? No flouride? aHhhdlskjfd) is any indication, three choices is definitely not enough.
