Steal His Look: Ryan Gosling Promoting La La Land

Week 2, Day 12 of No Jeans January

Are you ready for Style Girlfriend’s second-annual No Jeans January challenge? Good. Us too. All month we’ll be throwing down the gauntlet: 31 days, no jeans, game on. Each week, we’ll focus on a jeans-free alternative and share daily outfit inspiration. What’s more? We’ll be rewarding a stylish reader every week who shares a non-denim selfie using #NoJeansJanuary on social media with #SGapproved

Secret time: I’ve yet to actually hit the theaters and experience La La Land starring the one, the only, the Style Girlfriend Men’s Style Madness contender, Ryan Gosling. What I have seen? Gosling’s ability to make his award show/red carpet/airport/coffee shop style look seamless and somehow equally effortless.

From what I’ve deducted (read on the Interweb), this flick will waltz right into your heart with drama and enthusiasm to boot. But for me, all the song and dance surrounding this – likely – award show sweeper can really be about Gosling’s simple style. Consider the outfit he wore to the BAFTA Tea Party this year. The components: Monochrome, texture, basics, and a great tailor. Trust us, this is the easiest look you can steal (and please do steal it!).

Ryan Gosling promoting La La Land…and #NoJeansJanuary:

Below, how to steal Gosling’s look:

Trousers: Paul Smith, $160 | Polo shirt: Boss, $72 | Blazer: Michael Kors, $282

Socks: Happy Socks, $8 | Belt: Bonobos, $98 | Shoes: Florsheim, $130

Watch: Skagen, $147 | Fragrance: Histories De Parfums, $105 | Hair cream: Jack Black, $15

WHY LADIES LOVE THIS LOOK:

“Monochrome, texture, and fun socks; what’s not to love? This look is ultra-flattering for all body frames and would work for dressier occasions or more casual events (if you swap the shoes for say, a leather slip-on). Oh, and there is the whole R.Gos factor too… “
