Steal His Look: Edgar Ramirez Promoting Hands of Stone

The salsa dancing actor's serious style

Edgar Ramirez has been coming in hot on the Hollywood scene lately, but his polished style is already Oscar-worthy. You’ll likely recognize Ramirez from his work in Joy, Point Break (yes…the remake), or more recently from salsa dancing with Stephen Colbert while making the press rounds for his upcoming boxing hit, Hands of Stone. If none of these ring a bell, just look for the guy on red carpets who can wear a double-breasted pinstriped suit as effortlessly as a chino and bomber situation.

And what does one do after mastering two of the dressiest and most casual looks? Combine them, of course.

After convincing myself not to make Ramirez’s suited shot my screensaver, I moved on to dissecting what I love about this look (spoiler: I love everything). From the deep olive green shade in his perfectly tailored suit to that expertly styled hair, it’s all working. Below, see how to steal this suited yet simple get-up for yourself, and get ready for steal the spotlight while you’re at it.

Channel Edgar Ramirez promoting Hands of Stone:

Jacket: Noose & Monkey, $194 | Trousers: Noose & Monkey, $81 | Tee: Gant, $49

Shoes: Zara, $100 | Invisible Socks: Gap, $8 | Watch: UNKNOWN, $156

Cologne: Maison Martin Margiela, $125 | Hair Pomade: The Primp Club, $9

Sunglasses: Wonderland, $130

Wear it well:

  • How to get the untucked yet refined look with your tee? Tuck it. Just not thoroughly. Give the ends of your shirt a slight tuck, but not enough to prevent blousing entirely.
  • Swap black for deep navy. This trick – loved by stylists – will take any outfit from “lookin’ good” to “ow owww!”
  • When in doubt, stick to earth tones. Neutral hues like olive green and brown will pair together perfectly in dressed up or dressed down looks.
  • Show off some ankle. Before the weather fully settles into fall, take advantage of this sleek style to add a casual edge to your laid-back suit — just make sure your trousers are tapered and tailored.
