Wahl Man of the Year and a Giveaway!

A well-groomed man is always in style.

For the seventh year in a row, Wahl Clippers sent its mobile barbershop across the country in search of the man who best represented the pinnacle in facial hair for its Wahl “Man of the Year” contest. Carting around a team of Master Barbers, the brand doled out free trims and shaves in fourteen cities and searched for their next MOTY.

Helping to pick that man? Why, yours truly of course.

And I was in fine company. The other judges included the founder of the American Mustache Institute, last year’s MOTY winner, and an AskMen.com contributor. The panel based its selection on several key criteria. We were looking for a man who:

1. prides himself on facial hair excellence
2. wears facial hair on his own terms, and
3. clearly knows what a little time and a powerful facial hair trimmer can do.

The well-coiffed winner? Andrew Hammer from St. Louis, Mo., who nabbed the top spot for his flawlessly groomed handlebar mustache. Hammer won not only my undying respect and affection for rocking such a fierce ‘stache, but also n a Lithium Ion + Stainless Steel Trimmer and $1,000 cash prize.
