Please welcome the lovely Shyema Azam to Style Girlfriend!shyema azam, grooming products

Shyema is a freelance beauty editor at Marie Claire, Allure, Cosmopolitan, and Harper’s Bazaar. Between working at these great magazines and running her awesome beauty and food blog, Beauty and the Feast (great name, right?), the girl is elbow deep in amazing hair, face, and body products every day.

That’s why I asked her for her favorite guys’ grooming goods. Also, she has super shiny hair – it’s like a Disney princess! – so I pretty much trust whatever she has to say when it comes to product.

Below, Shyema’s top picks:

grooming products

1)   Redken for Men Mint Clean Invigorating Shampoo and Cool Finish Conditioner

Once, I was visiting some friends in DC and left my peppermint-infused conditioner behind (I always travel with my own bath products, don’t judge).  Anyway, I guess my friend’s husband started using it and he still talks about how that tingly mint rocks his world in the shower. This shampoo and conditioner from Redken gives that same cool feeling plus it leaves hair stronger. And yes, may very well rock your world too.

2)   Clark’s Botanicals Anti-Puff Eye Cream

I feel like a good number of guys ask me about what eye products to use, and Clark’s Botanicals Anti-Puff Eye Cream is a great bet. Not only does it target puffiness from late nights out with the boys, but the vitamin K helps lighten dark circles, while vitamins A and E smoothe fine lines. Plus, its handsome dark-green bottle won’t add any frill to your bathroom cabinet.

3)   Sephora The Leading Man Fragrance Impression Sampler For Him

This is one of my favorite gifts to give! Sephora offers these samplers with their themed and/or top-selling colognes and grooming products; you get to gift it to your guy for him to test and pick which one he likes best. He can then redeem the enclosed voucher at a local Sephora and get the full-size version of his favorite one. Plus, he can keep the samplers for when he travels. Genius.

4)   Arcona Men’s Starter Kit

I know that skin products are not every guy’s forte, so this kit can help. The all-natural line’s offerings includes a non-drying cleanser, a hydrator and wrinkle repair complex which both contain skin-pumping peptides, an exfoliant that contains volcanic minerals and fruit enzymes to help clean skin thoroughly, and a toner to help minimize breakouts. All good stuff, I promise. If you want, throw in an SPF in the mix too, I like Kiehl’s Activated Sun Protector Lotion SPF 50.

5)   Tigi Bed Head Manipulator

I don’t know if guys venture out too much outside their norm routine, but I gave this to a friend and he now re-stocks regularly which made me believe it’s awesome. If you like to test the waters with different hair styles, try this manipulator from TIGI. It’s has a matte finish and lends body too.
