A "Do" from Jersey Shore (no, really)

Yep, it happened

Jersey Shore’s Vinny I’m-not-going-to-bother-learning-to-spell-his-last-name at Sunday’s VMAs

I don’t think I’m alone in saying, I don’t totally loathe Vinny from Jersey Shore. The short, steroid-y one, I could do without. That new girl who sounds like Adam Sandler’s character from the old Gap girl SNL sketches, get outta here. But Vinny’s kind of sweet, and usually makes at least some sense when trying to moderate the housemates’ fighting.

One time, I saw him on Kathie Lee & Hoda, promoting some guest appearance he had coming up on another MTV show. He claimed mad acting skillz (yeah, that’s right..with a ‘z’), telling KL&H that he grew up doing plays, like “Shakespeare and stuff.” When the hosts prodded him to show off a little bit of the Bard, Vinny looked totally lost, before recovering with “Romeo, oh Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?”

Kathie Lee responded, “Yeah, but that’s Juliet’s line.”

It was amazing.

Anyways. It’s probably a good thing I dont have cable, so I can’t get totally sucked into the reality show std-fest, but my point is there’s something about him that’s kind of endearing, right?

That’s why I was so proud of him when he showed up to the MTV VMAs wearing this totally put-together look.

I say this a lot, but it helps to see it in action – gingham is totally acceptable to wear with a suit. As we move towards fall, a gingham shirt can make the transition with you. Keep colors in the same family (mixing cool tones like grays, purples and navy is a good place to start) and don’t get cocky with your tie choice. Keep it simple

My only complaint: the pants are a little long, but I mean, it’s a Jersey Shore cast member. If he’s not in Ed Hardy, I’m happy.
