Round 1 of 2017 Men’s Style Madness: 1 VS 16 and 8 VS 9
Welcome to the Madness! Voting is simple – pick the most stylish guy by clicking on their name in the match up – no login required. Feel free to share your bracket with us and sway a few votes in the comments below. So, who ya got?
1 vs 16
Jeff Goldblum
Like a fine wine, Jeff Goldblum’s style has only gotten better with age. It’s no coincidence that this silver fox is seeded so high – he’s definitely given past competition a run for their money. He’s not afraid to make a statement – especially with his glasses – and the guy knows how to rock a leather jacket like no other. His shiny, slicked back hair is definitely worth a steal (and it’s made easy with Axe’s smooth look shine pomade).
Casey Neistat
If television is the silver screen, then YouTube must be the platinum screen to the millennial generation. Casey Neistat, “YouTuber” according to a quick google search, errs on the casual side, but it’s clear he dresses with intention. He chooses styles that show off his physique, and is clearly a fan of slim cargo pants (of which I am a fan of him being a fan).

Ryan Gosling
Jeez, what sartorial wrong has Ryan Gosling ever committed that he hasn’t already won SG Madness yet? Dude ROCKED that frilly tuxedo shirt at the Oscars and I dare you to say otherwise. He can do casual, suiting and casual suiting, but he keeps his style from being contrived with slightly grown out facial hair and a little product – a flexible hold paste keeps things neat but not too perfect.
Pete Davidson
If I tell you that I almost bought the Acne sweatshirt that Pete (we’re on a first name basis, k?) wore in the far left picture for myself, will you vote for him to move forward in SG Madness? The guy is definitely more on the casual cool side of the spectrum, opting for standout sneaks and fun tees and sweatshirts.
[socialpoll id=”2426770″]
Mahershala Ali
Mahershala Ali wears many hats, both in his career and on his head. The star of Moonlight accepted his Oscar with grace, as well as a few nods for best dressed. Off the carpet, Mahershala has mastered the denim cuff, and hasn’t shown any signs of letting a new dad turn him on to dad jeans.
Kenneth Bone
I’m pretty sure I don’t even need to explain this one look wonder. Much like your childhood animated idol, Ken Bone is famous (infamous?) for his signature burgundy cable knit quarter zip sweater, which so clearly distinguishes him from the masses.
[socialpoll id=”2426811″]
Eddie Redmayne
The Fantastic Beasts star is another SG Madness veteran who has gone far in the past and has shown no reason to not go even further this year. Redmayne is a fan of classic styles cut slim to flatter his frame, and he’s happy to add a bit of color into any outfit, as long as it complements his auburn hair.
Rickie Fowler
Ricky Fowler may be as well known for his style as his golf skills. In a sport that generally opts for pastels, Fowler chooses only the brightest colors and largest logos. Sponsored by Puma, this golfer likes keep things flashy on the green. Have to give him props for no pit stains – antiperspirant does wonders for keeping one looking cool on the court, amirite?

8 vs 9
Ryan Seacrest
Ryan Seacrest, the producer of basically every reality tv show ever, also happens to be the face and name of Ryan Seacrest Distinction. If you haven’t heard, it’s a men’s clothing line that lets you dress like Ryan, which happens to be in classy suits that are easy to match for your convenience. He subscribes to the style mantra of being overdressed is better than being underdressed, so yes, you can generally find him suited up.
Bruno Mars
Bruno Mars rocks vintage inspired styles on and off the stage, and is not afraid to accessorize. The musician can rock a fedora like no other, and knows how to do right by man jewelry, which could easily help him become a dark horse lead in SG Madness.
[socialpoll id=”2426827″]
Nick Young
Nick Young balls on the court and off. The Lakers player is a style chameleon – he doesn’t shy away from color, but he knows how to add interest to a monochrome outfit.
Aziz Ansari
While he may play the lead role in Master of None, Aziz is definitely a master of style. Whether it’s casual or on the carpet, Ansari’s style is clean cut, both in style and fit. Aziz has had a pretty good showing in past SG Madness, and why should 2017 be any different?
[socialpoll id=”2426825″]
Tom Ford
While this isn’t the first time his name has popped up in SG Madness, it is the first time Tom Ford has been included in the brackets. The designer cum director is notorious for his sharp suiting, both on himself and everybody who is somebody.
Edgar Ramirez
Edgar Ramirez may be known for his acting chops in but his dapper gentleman style is definitely one to be recognized. He chooses classic cuts that flatter his sturdy frame, and his lush wild head of hair is the perfect complement to his more tailored style. If you have similar texture, AXE’s extreme hold hair gel should tame your hair in the same way Ramirez tames his.
[socialpoll id=”2426823″]
Jesse Williams
Jesse Williams is more than a pair of baby blue eyes and some acting chops. This Grey’s Anatomy actor really shines when it comes to suiting – he’s eager to mix slim, flattering fits and fun prints for winning combinations time and time again.
Chris Pine
Chris Pine not only shines as a member of Star Trek but also as a star with style. He’s especially talented at finding the perfect balance of casual and elegant, through suit and tee pairings or short sleeve button ups that never read Dwight Schrute and always read retro-cool NASA guy. Must have something to due with his perfectly pomaded ‘do (which you should definitely replicate this spring – AXE’s classic pomade should do the trick).
