Men’s Style Madness: Round One, 6 vs. 11
Dwyane Wade vs. Graham Norton
D. Wade has been stealing the show on and off the court for a minute. If you saw him during NBA All-Star weekend (or any paparazzi shot with his wife Gabrielle Union), you’ve surely noticed his affinity towards fur, sharp shoes, and an accessory or two.
This Irish laugh riot’s style is light-hearted, but oh-so-sleek. Norton definitely branches out in every aspect of his wardrobe, which pays off in a big way when those multi-patterned and bright outfits mesh seamlessly.
…D.Wade or Norton?
Ryan Reynolds vs. Johannes Huebl
Reynolds was nice enough this year to skip his way right into our hearts (again) as the anti-hero we didn’t know we needed. Off-screen, this hilarious guy keeps his layers interesting – even when dressed down.
Mr. Olivia Palermo, ahem, Johannes Huebl is another mainstay in #menswear – and for good reason. He can command the sartorially inspired down Savile Row while simultaneously sporting a combination of unexpected colors or a suited styling trend.
…Deadpool or Johannes?
Trevor Noah vs. Justin Trudeau
Trevor Noah…talk to us about those seriously slick layers. A henley and tuxedo jacket with jeans? Oh yes. Besides knocking his new Daily Show gig out of the park, we love seeing his updated suit rotation and red carpet casual side.
Arguably the best thing that’s come out of Canada since the Biebs, Trudeau has quickly made the internet starry eyed over his polices and surprisingly sharp wardrobe. His shoe game never disappoints and it’s always refreshing to see a politician in perfectly tailored suits and casual looks alike.
…Trevor or Trudeau?
Jeff Goldblum vs. Nicholas Hoult
A fan favorite from last year who was barely knocked out by winner Daniel Craig, we had to slot Goldblum right back in the bracket this year. At a whopping 6’4″, he tailors everything to his frame and still rocks moto jackets, fedoras, and retro oxfords (helping him skirt around even a hint of you know, dad-style).
This talented chap has been gracing the screens of movie theaters for years and delighting our style sensibilities just the same. Recently, we’ve loved seeing Hoult balance unique slim suiting with his rugged casual attire.
…Goldblum or Hoult?
Men’s Style Madness: Round One, 3 vs. 14
Kevin Hart vs. Kit Harington
Say what you will about his tendency towards jewel encrusted lapels now and again, but Kevin Hart undeniably wear clothes perfectly for his body type. He elongates his smaller frame with tapered pants and slim shirting that makes a huge difference. Another plus: his personal style directly relates to his personality…and that’s what makes fashion fun.
You know nothing, Jon Snow – except for dressing extremely well, right? After a few minutes spent marveling at Harrington’s cuffed pants over boots, we’re back. His effortless style is amped up by pops of color and staples that translate to multiple looks.
…Kevin or Kit?
Aziz Ansari vs. Public School Designers
By now let’s hope everyone has finished binge-watching Master of None (if not, what are we even doing here?!), so we can dive into his attention-grabbing wardrobe. Aziz – like Kevin Hart – also uses proper tailoring to fit his small frame, and his love of fashion keeps his posed to reap constant rewards from his style risks.
Public School Designers
We’ve seen these guys at the past two NYFW: Men’s and are impressed by both their collections and personal style each time we see them. They make athleisure 2.0 look more accessible than ever – a style feat only rivaled by their success in runway-ready monochrome looks.
…Aziz or Public School?
James Corden vs. Brooklyn Beckham
Not to mention any names…someone on Team SG was recently in an elevator with James Corden and didn’t immediately tell him how much love we throw his way, but I digress. Corden keeps us on our toes with his hilarious antics and his praiseworthy personal style, so it’s fitting that his mastery of outfitting his body type seeded high on this year’s bracket.
The product of a Spice Girl turned fashion designer and soccer star/male model, it was only a matter of time before Brooklyn Beckham broke into the style game. Broke is less fitting, he was more so obligated with those genetics. This year he turned head in his Burberry campaign, but his age-appropriate street style is just as impressive as his slim cut suits.
…James or Brooklyn?
Ryan Seacrest vs. Lucky Blue Smith
Sure, he made the Kardashians happens and a lot of us are still grappling with that, but no one can deny his longstanding love affair with a perfectly fitting tie and seemingly endless shirt and tie combinations. Seacrest has mastered the casual blazer and can wear a three-piece effortlessly within the same breath.
Lucky Blue Smith
Another young contender in this year’s bracket that’s causing a media frenzy in the fashion world, seventeen year old Lucky Blue Smith has been the model du jour far past the du jour time spectrum. Enveloped in style, we love how he melds fashion (with a capital F) with accessible street style for edgy-meets-classic outfits.
