I love a hard reset.
From No Jeans January to designating a word of the year, there’s just something so…affirming about hitting the pause button for a minute so you can shake off the past and move forward with intention.
Coming up with a plan. Plotting a roadmap.
But when it comes to resting on my laurels? Looking back and saying, Oh sh*t, I did that!
That, I’m still working on.
So as we enter a new year (…err, plus a month and a half) at Style Girlfriend, I want to thank every reader, every newsletter subscriber, anyone who’s ever DM’d us on Instagram to let us know a dating tip or shoe shopping suggestion reached them at just the right time.
Anyone who’s ever told a friend, “Oh thanks, I saw it on Style Girlfriend” after receiving a compliment.
I continue to be overwhelmed with SG’s success, and every email sign-up, every social media follow, every like (!), hits me in my feels.
We’ve built something together that the men’s lifestyle space clearly lacked, and I promise we’ll continue to work hard in 2025 to make Style Girlfriend your go-to resource for all things leveling up.
So, what does that mean for you?
More stories
We try to stay consistent with publishing a new story every weekday (or at least updating and republishing an older story) to the blog, but like Tate McRae, I’m greedy.
I want to amp up SG’s content output so there’s not just more style stories, but more dating and relationship resources, and home and grooming guides, too.
A smarter focus
We made the decision to wind down the styling service towards the end of last year in order to put all our energy into the free and affordable resources that Style Girlfriend already offers.
Don’t get me wrong. I got such a jolt of good vibes every time a stylist conveyed a client’s thanks, but the work drew focus from our mission of helping guys look, feel, and act their best.
Emphasis mine, and intended!
I know we get a lot of guys through the door with tips, tricks, and shortcuts on what to wear, but being a man that women want to be around is about so much more than style.
Conveying this through content aimed at all aspects of the lifestyle journey for men feels like the right move.
At least for now.
Building community
We’re working on rejiggering (god, I love the word “rejiggering,” don’t you?) the monthly Wardrobe Report subscription to include more resources and foster an active SG community.
While I believe the report’s collection of nine shoppable outfits available exclusively to subscribers justifies the price, we want to make the offering even more robust in 2025.
Meaning? Virtual get-togethers, access to a private Discord, and more.
We’re sort of building this airplane in the air, so if you have ideas or suggestions on what would make you subscribe, hit us with them!
Expanded resources
This one comes with a very large ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ attached, but towards the end of last year, we received some interest about a purchase of Style Girlfriend. I know, right?!
It got our whole team thinking about what a bigger name behind the platform could help us do.
So! If you work in M&A or know someone (or some, y’know, entity) interested in media acquisitions, please have them reach out to hello@stylegirlfriend.com! We’d love to connect.
More soon, and in the meantime, thanks again.
